This page is for those interested in following the development of my artistic practice. It is a place where I will be reflecting on what I do and dumping fragments of thoughts, ideas and process.
My practice is centered in (but not exclusive to) creating work for and with children and young people. I believe that children deserve equal access to high quality arts expereriences, and that it is an injustice that they do not recieve this in Australia, especially in Queensland where I live.
I will never forget the impact that art had on me as a child, and I cherish the memories I have of the performances, music and films that have so heavily influenced me in my adult practice. The Chinese Circus that toured to Mackay when I was 4 years old, watching Akira with my sister when I was 8 (and freaking out), and Jeff Wayne’s musical version of War of the Worlds, which was my favourite album from the age of 6-12.
If I can make exciting art that responds directly to the unique developmental needs of children and young people, I can help create these memories for other people, and change the world in small but profound ways.
